Desert camp pickup
Flights launch deep in the Sharqiya region, so you usually stay at or are collected from a desert camp before dawn.
Wahiba is far from Muscat. Plan an overnight in a desert camp rather than a same-day trip from the capital.2
Weather check and briefing
The pilot checks the desert wind and gives a safety briefing. The cool, dry winter mornings are usually calm and reliable.

Sunrise flight over the dunes
You lift off as the sun rises and drift for about 50 minutes over an endless sea of orange and gold dunes.
