What to Expect on the Day

Pre-dawn camp pickup
You are collected from your Serengeti camp or lodge before dawn and driven to the launch site on the plains.
Stay at a camp in the right region for the season. The Serengeti is vast, and launch sites are far apart.2
Dawn launch
As the sky lightens the crew inflate the balloon, you climb into the basket, and lift off just as the sun rises over the savanna.

The flight
For about an hour you drift low over the plains, watching for wildebeest, zebra, elephant, giraffe and predators, with hot-air bursts to climb for the panorama.
Wildlife roams freely, so what you see varies each morning. The endless Serengeti at sunrise is the guaranteed reward.4
Bush breakfast
After landing you sit down to a full breakfast laid out in the bush, often with sparkling wine, before a game drive back to camp.
